Christmas Season!

Can you believe it?! I'm actually updating the blog with THIS adorable picture...
The wees ones, the Knight and I are doing fabulously!!! Lil P is now just over two years old and Squirt is 5 months old. Needless to say our lives are extremely busy, but we are having a blast (most of the time). Lil P talks nonstop and has such a sweet spirit about herself. She loves being a helper with her little brother and she's extremely active both at school and home. Squirt is growing like a weed. He's 20 lbs...the size of a 1 yr old!! He's been measuring in the 95% for height, weight and head circumference so he's big all around. He's been eating fruits and veggies for the past month, and he's rolling all over the place. We are working on him sitting solo, but that'll take a little while longer. Squirt has had 3 right ear infections so surgery for tubes is likely on the horizon in the new year.
Well back the peanut butter fudge and pecan pie I go...don't want to be neglectful of them, like I've been with you these past few months:)
Love to all!!

Wee Ones

We are alive...we are alive!!!
It's hard to believe, and also a bit embarrassing, that it's been over a MONTH since I updated you all on the wee ones. TONS has happened in our lives...so let me begin.
Squirt was baptized on August 28th, where my brother and sister stood beside us as his godparents (they are Lil P's too). Squirt wore the same baptismal gown that Lil P and his cousins wore, the one that my mom handmade for her grandchildren to be baptized in. The gown is beautiful and very special to us all! After the baptism we came back to our house for lunch, and play time of course!
Later that same day, Lil P celebrated her 2nd birthday (gosh, 2 already?!). Elmo was the theme and the day was shared with friends and family from near and far. One of mine and The Knight's coworkers made this fabulous cake which tasted just as wonderful as it looked.
We've had two road trips to Franklin to visit my family and will be heading to Missouri in a few short weeks to visit The Knight's family. Lil P is a fabulous traveller and Squirt is getting better with every trip:)

Lil P is really a special little girl, she seems to be growing up so quickly. She often speaks in sentences and she's able to communicate her needs and wants using more and more words daily. She's an excellent big sister to Squirt, making sure she helps him whenever she can. Overall she's been really healthy, despite the one viral infection she had a few weeks ago. Her breathing has been great, seriously no bouts with wheezing in quite some time...praise God! The Knight and I are so proud of our little girl. She's got such a sweet spirit and really seems to enjoy life!
Squirt is already TEN and a half weeks old...OMG, time has really flown by!!! When we took him for his two month check up he weighed 14 lbs and 2 oz and was 23 inches long. He's measuring in the 90th percentile for height, weight and head circumference. Who knows, maybe we have a football player on our hands!! We've finally got his tummy issues figured out (we think), he's on his fifth type of formula and has been successfully for right at a month now. He too was diagnosed with having reflux (like big sister) and he's taking medication twice daily, which really seems to be helping with the symptoms. My little man eats all the time...seriously, he never seems to get enough! When Lil P had her viral infection, Squirt was also sick with his first ear infection. Seriously, a two month old with an ear infection?!?! UGH, my poor children and their ears!!!! After 10 days of antibiotics, he's doing great. He's still not sleeping through the night, but luckily he wakes just once to eat (I told you he was a hungry guy). He's pretty laid back and goes with the flow. He's cooing and smiling all the time, even so much that sometimes when I'm on the phone people hear him over me...and you know Im loud:) He shops A LOT with me, and even tags along on lunch dates (actually he gets invited and I tag along). The verdict is still out on whether he looks like me or The Knight...but either way he's pretty darn fantastic.
I'm almost 100% positive I've forgotten something about the kids, but these are the big happenings in their lives. A future post is to come on how The Knight and I are surviving life with two kids two years old and younger!!! Until then...tons of love!

Sometimes you just have to laugh!!!

Well so I had a great idea to take the kids for a walk last night, the weather was absolutely beautiful here in the South. Don't they look so happy?!
We enjoyed a nice brisk 45 minute walk! This is the first bit of exercise I have had in nearly a year...crazy huh?! Lil P did fabulous and so did Squirt, with the exception of the last 5 minutes when he started screaming (I later realized he was hungry). We got back to the house only to realize I had grabbed the WRONG keys. Yes, you got that right...I was locked out of the house with a screaming baby and a two year old that wanted to run and play EVERYWHERE! The Knight was in graduate school, so he couldn't help us out. Luckily our friends Brad and Katy have our house key, so they came to the rescue within 30 mins...praise God, because it was 8pm by that time.
After getting into the house and feeding the little man, I decided to give Lil P a much needed bath (she played in the flower bed mulch while we were waiting for our key, she was black head to toe). While in the bath tub the power went out!!! Yup, you guessed it I had one in the bath and one in a bouncy seat in the pitch dark. Lil P began to get scared so I got her out of the tub and we made our way to the kitchen to get a flashlight. As soon as we got the flashlight the power came on again...praise God!
So, I just had to look back at the whole evening and laugh! I've realized sometimes that if we don't laugh at road blocks or craziness, we cry and no one likes crying!
Let's hope the day turns out even better today!

Da Da and His Mini Me's

I can't deny it any longer, my children look JUST like their Da Da!!!! Gosh, doesn't he look like one extremely proud daddy?!?! I sure do love and adore The Knight.
The kids say it all with this onesie they both wore..."My dad's a geek"!
Here's Lil P at 8 weeks old...
And here's Squirt at 5 weeks old (quite the chunker, don't you think?!)...
They both crack me up with their funny expressions!
All is going well in our house, crazy as usual and loving every moment of it=)

P-A-R-T-Y

Today I am totally celebrating that my little man is ONE MONTH old!!! Look at this sweet, edible, adorable and chunky face. Isn't he so handsome, just like his daddy.
I'm celebrating most that he's been extremely happy and healthy the entire month...praise God!

We had a fantastic weekend filled with relaxing family time, yummy food and visits from fabulous friends. Saturday was totally about us, just our little family of four...but then came Sunday! Sunday we had a fantastic time when Chad and Jenn came in from Florida and Katy and Olivia came over to hang out for the day.
Here's Chad and Jenn holding Olivia and Squirt. Wouldn't they look so cute with twins?!?!

And here big sis got time with Uncle Chad and Aunt Jenn...
I absolutely love seeing people love my kids. I think that's one of the best gifts a person can give me as a mom...their love for my kids! They both took special time with each of my wee ones, making sure they both felt as special as they truly are. Thanks guys!!!
And of course, a day is NOT complete without Lil P acting totally and completely silly!!!
She had the best time playing with Aunt Jenn's glasses and of course getting everyones' attention!

Happy Monday everyone...have a great week!

Limitless Love

These little loves are my absolute prides and joys...
It's been a real blessing to see how a two year old can develop and express love to another little human being who has rocked her world in so many ways! She wakes in the morning and immediately asks "where's baby?" and goes to bed at night, only after she's given him a goodnight kiss. She's ever patient with his fits and desires to be involved in every aspect of his life. She really is a gift from God! Lil P was blessed with such a sweet, nurturing spirit, one that I hope she holds onto forever.
BUT...don't let the sweetness and optimism fool you, we totally have these types of moments at our house...
You know, the moments that are raw and unedited. The moments that are loud and cringing. The moments that may entail both little ones screaming at the tops of their lungs, almost in competition of who can be the loudest. Yes, my house is far from perfect...just like me! The Knight and I try our best to roll with the punches, but I have to be honest sometimes the little ones win and they get the best of us. And I'm okay with their win, because after all we are human and still adjusting to being parents of two. I find myself trying to be the "perfect" mom, as if that person really exists anyways. I make mad attempts to talk myself down from the crazy expectations, and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose...but again, I roll with the punches of life. No one ever said this would be easy, but I'm really having a fantastic time learning.
Both of the little loves are doing wonderfully, growing bigger and bigger by the day...especially Squirt! Several people have told me that he's getting "so big" and internally I smile and say "way to go momma" to myself. That is, after-all, my job...to fatten the wee one up! Lil P is talking SO MUCH more these days and is in the early stages of color identification. She's almost completely off the Gerber toddler meals and she's eating just about everything The Knight and I are eating, which is making life so much easier.
Here are a few more photos to enjoy until next time!!!
Much Love!!

Celebration Time!

Although I'm a day late, the celebration is still going on for Lil P's 2nd birthday!!!
It's hard to believe that she went from this...
To this...
To THIS...
It really is CRAZY how quickly time flies, especially when you are having SO much fun!!!
Lil P had a great weekend, surrounded by so many people that love her dearly. Nana and Granddaddy came in town on Saturday to celebrate and also to see Squirt.
On Sunday one of my best girlfriends, Daeon and her little one, came in town to visit...
Sunday afternoon Paw and Granny came to celebrate Lil P's birthday with presents and cake...
Now this wasn't just any cake, this was a home made cake made by no other than Lil P herself. Take a look at the little baker in the making...
She was extremely proud of herself and we were too! The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent with our little family of four playing with bubbles and the water table outside and building blocks and reading books inside.
Lil P was able to Skye with Nana and Granddaddy and Uncle TT, she received phone calls from Aunt Jill and Gincha and she received TONS of birthday wishes from all of The Knight and my friends. It's really, really nice to know your child is loved by so many people!!!
And in case you want to know (and I know you do) Squirt is doing fabulous...
He's sleeping and eating really well, and it only fussy when he needs to eat, when he's gassy or when he has a dirty diaper. I think we've finally got him on the right formula...praise God!!! He's been very gassy since birth and we ended up placing him on soy formula and it seems to be doing the trick for him right now!
Much love and until next time, take care!!!
