Sometimes you just have to laugh!!!

Well so I had a great idea to take the kids for a walk last night, the weather was absolutely beautiful here in the South. Don't they look so happy?!
We enjoyed a nice brisk 45 minute walk! This is the first bit of exercise I have had in nearly a year...crazy huh?! Lil P did fabulous and so did Squirt, with the exception of the last 5 minutes when he started screaming (I later realized he was hungry). We got back to the house only to realize I had grabbed the WRONG keys. Yes, you got that right...I was locked out of the house with a screaming baby and a two year old that wanted to run and play EVERYWHERE! The Knight was in graduate school, so he couldn't help us out. Luckily our friends Brad and Katy have our house key, so they came to the rescue within 30 mins...praise God, because it was 8pm by that time.
After getting into the house and feeding the little man, I decided to give Lil P a much needed bath (she played in the flower bed mulch while we were waiting for our key, she was black head to toe). While in the bath tub the power went out!!! Yup, you guessed it I had one in the bath and one in a bouncy seat in the pitch dark. Lil P began to get scared so I got her out of the tub and we made our way to the kitchen to get a flashlight. As soon as we got the flashlight the power came on again...praise God!
So, I just had to look back at the whole evening and laugh! I've realized sometimes that if we don't laugh at road blocks or craziness, we cry and no one likes crying!
Let's hope the day turns out even better today!

Da Da and His Mini Me's

I can't deny it any longer, my children look JUST like their Da Da!!!! Gosh, doesn't he look like one extremely proud daddy?!?! I sure do love and adore The Knight.
The kids say it all with this onesie they both wore..."My dad's a geek"!
Here's Lil P at 8 weeks old...
And here's Squirt at 5 weeks old (quite the chunker, don't you think?!)...
They both crack me up with their funny expressions!
All is going well in our house, crazy as usual and loving every moment of it=)

P-A-R-T-Y

Today I am totally celebrating that my little man is ONE MONTH old!!! Look at this sweet, edible, adorable and chunky face. Isn't he so handsome, just like his daddy.
I'm celebrating most that he's been extremely happy and healthy the entire month...praise God!

We had a fantastic weekend filled with relaxing family time, yummy food and visits from fabulous friends. Saturday was totally about us, just our little family of four...but then came Sunday! Sunday we had a fantastic time when Chad and Jenn came in from Florida and Katy and Olivia came over to hang out for the day.
Here's Chad and Jenn holding Olivia and Squirt. Wouldn't they look so cute with twins?!?!

And here big sis got time with Uncle Chad and Aunt Jenn...
I absolutely love seeing people love my kids. I think that's one of the best gifts a person can give me as a mom...their love for my kids! They both took special time with each of my wee ones, making sure they both felt as special as they truly are. Thanks guys!!!
And of course, a day is NOT complete without Lil P acting totally and completely silly!!!
She had the best time playing with Aunt Jenn's glasses and of course getting everyones' attention!

Happy Monday everyone...have a great week!

Limitless Love

These little loves are my absolute prides and joys...
It's been a real blessing to see how a two year old can develop and express love to another little human being who has rocked her world in so many ways! She wakes in the morning and immediately asks "where's baby?" and goes to bed at night, only after she's given him a goodnight kiss. She's ever patient with his fits and desires to be involved in every aspect of his life. She really is a gift from God! Lil P was blessed with such a sweet, nurturing spirit, one that I hope she holds onto forever.
BUT...don't let the sweetness and optimism fool you, we totally have these types of moments at our house...
You know, the moments that are raw and unedited. The moments that are loud and cringing. The moments that may entail both little ones screaming at the tops of their lungs, almost in competition of who can be the loudest. Yes, my house is far from perfect...just like me! The Knight and I try our best to roll with the punches, but I have to be honest sometimes the little ones win and they get the best of us. And I'm okay with their win, because after all we are human and still adjusting to being parents of two. I find myself trying to be the "perfect" mom, as if that person really exists anyways. I make mad attempts to talk myself down from the crazy expectations, and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose...but again, I roll with the punches of life. No one ever said this would be easy, but I'm really having a fantastic time learning.
Both of the little loves are doing wonderfully, growing bigger and bigger by the day...especially Squirt! Several people have told me that he's getting "so big" and internally I smile and say "way to go momma" to myself. That is, after-all, my job...to fatten the wee one up! Lil P is talking SO MUCH more these days and is in the early stages of color identification. She's almost completely off the Gerber toddler meals and she's eating just about everything The Knight and I are eating, which is making life so much easier.
Here are a few more photos to enjoy until next time!!!
Much Love!!

Celebration Time!

Although I'm a day late, the celebration is still going on for Lil P's 2nd birthday!!!
It's hard to believe that she went from this...
To this...
To THIS...
It really is CRAZY how quickly time flies, especially when you are having SO much fun!!!
Lil P had a great weekend, surrounded by so many people that love her dearly. Nana and Granddaddy came in town on Saturday to celebrate and also to see Squirt.
On Sunday one of my best girlfriends, Daeon and her little one, came in town to visit...
Sunday afternoon Paw and Granny came to celebrate Lil P's birthday with presents and cake...
Now this wasn't just any cake, this was a home made cake made by no other than Lil P herself. Take a look at the little baker in the making...
She was extremely proud of herself and we were too! The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent with our little family of four playing with bubbles and the water table outside and building blocks and reading books inside.
Lil P was able to Skye with Nana and Granddaddy and Uncle TT, she received phone calls from Aunt Jill and Gincha and she received TONS of birthday wishes from all of The Knight and my friends. It's really, really nice to know your child is loved by so many people!!!
And in case you want to know (and I know you do) Squirt is doing fabulous...
He's sleeping and eating really well, and it only fussy when he needs to eat, when he's gassy or when he has a dirty diaper. I think we've finally got him on the right formula...praise God!!! He's been very gassy since birth and we ended up placing him on soy formula and it seems to be doing the trick for him right now!
Much love and until next time, take care!!!

The little man that changed our world forever

It's amazing how in the blink of an eye, your world can be changed...for the good or the bad, it's changed and will never be the same again. I'm extremely blessed and fortunate that this little man was given to our family a very short 17 days ago...
I'm very excited that our world has forever been changed by the birth of our second, and last, child. Squirt is settling into the family quite nicely. We all are extremely fond of him and think he's a keeper indeed! Lil P is an absolutely amazing big sister. It's so cool to see how she responds to him when he squeals or cries...she immediately runs to his aid. She wants him involved in every aspect of life, book time, nightly prayers, meals, etc. She's addicted to her little brother!
On Friday, The Knight and I took the kids to the pediatrician for Lil P's 2 yr check up and Squirt's 2 wk check up. We were all excited when both kids got clean bills of health! Lil P is still in the 90-95% for her height, weight and head circumference and she's holding steady at 30.5 lbs. The Dr. said she looked fabulous and that she's met all developmental milestones up to this point. Squirt also got rave reviews, especially in regards to weight. Lil man now weighs 8 lbs which is 5oz over birth weight, so he's progressing really well.  I'll take Squirt back in 6 weeks for his 2 month check up and Lil P doesn't have to return until 3 yrs unless we go in for a sick appointment (let's keep our fingers crossed that those visits will be at a minimal for the next year).
On Saturday I ventured out with the kids by myself for a playdate with my good friend Jennifer and her two little ones, Ty and Lizzie. Not only did we play, we also tried out a double stroller...yes, since I now have two kids two years old and under I thought it might be wise to have one. Take a look at the kids...
It's still so hard for me to believe that my once little girl, looks SO big!!! The stroller was just what I was looking for, so I purchased it last night. Hopefully it'll be in by the end of the week. Once I receive it, then my crazy self can take both kids shopping...without anyone else. It's a very exciting challenge, but a tad bit daunting!
The Knight returned to work today, after being home with Squirt and I for a little over two weeks. We've missed him quite a bit today but it's good for us all to get into a routine. I'll be off for 10 more weeks, then it's back to work I go as well.
Nana called me yesterday and asked if she and Granddaddy could come visit this coming Saturday. I am extremely excited that they are coming to see the kids, because I know they've missed them and I know Lil P will be extremely excited to see them. Since Nana left our home after Squirt was born, Lil P has talked about Nana non-stop...and I mean NON-STOP:)
This week Squirt and I have shopping to do for Lil P's 2nd birthday which is in less than a week. Lil P is in the phase of putting on several clothing articles over the outfit she's already wearing so I think we are going to get her some dress-up clothes to play with. Maybe, just maybe, this will keep her from destroying all her drawers in search of the "perfect" outfit! If not, oh well, it'll just add to the pile.
We are hoping to take outdoor pictures of the kids very soon, but the heat index here is over 105 so the outdoors is off limits for the week. Well that's about it for now!!! Much love,
